Abstract

La convocatoria del grupo de trabajo en desarrollo urbano de CLACSO a su VI reunión, “En defensa de la urbanidad: conflictos, identidades y territorios”, invita a pensar en la naturaleza política de la ciudad. Entenderemos urbanidad no en el sentido estricto señalado por la lengua castellana2, sino como el carácter de lo que es urbano, como una evocación a reflexionar en defensa del derecho a la ciudad y del papel de los conflictos, las identidades y los territorios en esta defensa. Nos concentraremos más particularmente en el proceso de formación de identidad e identidades urbanas y los posibles fracasos y contribuciones de éste proceso a la ya mencionada defensa del derecho a la ciudad.
