Las relaciones entre Japón y China en la era Trump

Abstract

Las relaciones entre China y Japón han experimentado en los últimos años una escalada de tensiones por diversas razones: conflictos territoriales, rivalidad histórica por liderar la región, modificaciones japonesas a la política de defensa. Frente a las políticas comerciales proteccionistas impulsadas por el presidente estadounidense, China y Japón parecen encontrar puntos de contacto en el área económico-comercial, aunque persisten conflictos de fondo que deben ser solucionados para que el acercamiento actual perdure en el tiempo. Se sostendrá entonces que el acercamiento económico-comercial es coyuntural y que se deben resolver los asuntos potencialmente más dañinos para la relación para que la relación bilateral sea realmente pacífica. Para confirmar la hipótesis se analizarán algunas de las principales temáticas del vínculo bilateral que impactan en la región asiática: efectos en China y Japón de los cambios en la política estadounidense hacia Asia, divergentes posiciones en torno a Corea del Norte, rencillas diplomáticas, conflicto por la soberanía de las islas Senkaku/Diaoyu e interdependencia económica y comercio bilateral.
