Abstract

Japón es un pequeño país de 377, 837 km2, tiene aproximadamente 127, 417,240 habitantes (estimaciones 2005 en la Enciclopedia Encarta), por lo que su densidad poblacional es de 323 hab. / km2. Después de la segunda guerra mundial Japón quedó devastado, tanto por la explosión de las dos bombas atómicas, que aún tienen secuelas en parte de la población, como por la ocupación norteamericana de la provincia de Okinawa, devuelta al imperio hasta 1972.
