La relación autonomismo partido en Cienfuegos de 1878-1882. Una reflexión necesaria

Abstract

El trabajo que se presenta toma como referente algunas reflexiones teóricas y prácticas del autonomismo como corriente ideológica para explicar el contexto en que se constituyó el Partido Liberal en la Isla, su Programa y Doctrina y su influencia en Cienfuegos. El tema que se presenta está dirigido a develar las concepciones acerca de la autonomía de Cuba, el autonomismo como la nueva tendencia de los dueños de plantaciones de Occidente en el que se incluye Cienfuegos, declarando su contenido reaccionario y retrógrado dado por la composición social de su dirigencia, cuándo y cómo se organizó el partido liberal en la Isla y su particularidad en Cienfuegos. De igual forma destaca las principales ideas del Programa del autonomismo que evidencia la lucha política que se gestó finalizada la guerra de los Diez Años, y la Doctrina del mismo como expresión y continuidad de la defensa y la propaganda de las ideas autonomistas.
