Revisitando a questão agrária brasileira na visão de Caio Prado Junior e Ignácio Rangel

Abstract

O trabalho tem o objetivo de aferir as principais contribuições de Caio Prado Junior e Ignácio Rangel, situando suas reflexões no contexto político e econômico mais amplo no Brasil. São apresentadas questões relacionadas ao método, o que se constitui a questão agrária e quais as propostas de cada autor para solucionar o que entendiam como “problema agrário†, inserindo essas análises na escala mais geral no conjunto de propostas ao desenvolvimento econômico nacional. Procura-se demonstrar que as principais propostas parecem convergir para uma melhor relação entre a população do campo e o mercado de trabalho em setores urbanos, e não necessariamente uma questão propriamente fundiária. Trata-se de avaliações complexas da realidade brasileira e indicam um recuo nas propostas mais revolucionárias de reforma agrária, para projetos “mais pertinentes†ao que era possível realizar em meios às condições de mudanças estruturais e profundas transformações perversas aos trabalhadores rurais mais pobres daquela época.
