Los sistemas de información gerencial en empresas cartageneras

Abstract

Este artículo presenta los resultados del proyecto de investigación relacionado con los sistemas de información gerencial en empresas de la ciudad de Cartagena de Indias. El objetivo del trabajo fue realizar un diagnóstico del uso de los sistemas de información gerencial en las empresas cartageneras, con el fin de determinar el apoyo de estos en el proceso de toma de decisiones por parte de quienes lideran las organizaciones. Para este estudio, el grupo investigador utilizó un tipo de investigación exploratoria, con muestreo probabilístico a 33 empresas establecidas en Cartagena, se realizaron grupos de discusión con personal de la dirección, usuarios claves en la organización y personal del departamento de sistemas, lo cual permitió recolectar información del objeto de estudio los cuales fueron corroborados con entrevistas formales e informales aplicadas a 90 personas informantes claves y conocedores en el tema. Según los resultados arrojados se podrían asegurar que las organizaciones en Cartagena se encuentran en un nivel alto en cuanto al manejo de información importante para el proceso de toma de decisiones.
