Propuesta Metodológica para la Gestión de Calidad en las Empresas Públicas de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado de la provincia de Chimborazo, Ecuador

Abstract

Por los cambios políticos del Ecuador a partir del año 2008, los Gobiernos Autónomos Descentralizados asumen las competencias administrativas en conjunto con la Gerencia General de las EMAPA (Empresa Municipal de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado). A pesar de la labor que se ha ejecutado en los últimos años es necesario aumentar considerablemente la cobertura del servicio tanto en zonas urbanas como rurales. Según la investigación realizada se evidencia la existencia de 221 empresas públicas de agua potable y alcantarillado del Ecuador (Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas y Censos, 2015).
