Mutaciones mediante radiaciones gamma en arroz

Abstract

Una de las principales fuentes de alimento del pueblo Ecuatoriano en el Arroz (Oriza sativa), el rápido alimento de la población exige una producción mayor, está se la obtiene si se maneja eficientemente los cultivos y si se mejora genéticamente las variedades que tradicionalmente siembra nuestro hombre de campo. Uno de los métodos de mejoramiento, conocido desde hace mucho tiempo son las mutaciones llamadas también variaciones discontinúas, estas son alteraciones ocurridas en uno o más genes pudiendo transmitirse hereditariamente con mayor frecuencia en las plantas.
