Importancia económica y ambiental de la recuperación del aluminio en Cuba

Abstract

Todo proyecto de desarrollo tiene que tener presente el cuidado ambiental. La recuperación, la reutilización y el reciclaje de los residuos de aluminio encarnan actividades de obligado cumplimiento en estos tiempos, debido a las magníficas ventajas que reporta el empleo del aluminio reciclado en los procesos productivos. Estas ventajas tienen que ver con el considerable ahorro de energía, la reducción de las emisiones de CO2 a la atmósfera, la reducción de residuos en los vertederos y la disminución en la extracción de bauxita, mineral empleado para la fabricación de aluminio primario.Por todas las razones expuestas, la recuperación y procesamiento de los residuos de aluminio, se convierten en una actividad muy necesaria, principalmente para un país como Cuba, donde la sustitución de importaciones, el incremento de productos exportables y el fomento de las fuentes de empleo, representan factores decisivos para el desarrollo.
