Algunos apuntes sobre los procesos de renegociación de los pasivos soberanos durante la crisis de la deuda de los años 80

Abstract

El presente artículo analiza algunos elementos ligados al proceso de negociación entre los gobiernos latinoamericanos y los bancos acreedores en el marco de la crisis de endeudamiento abierta en 1982. En primer lugar, se ocupa de las transformaciones en el sistema financiero internacional que dieron inicio a un ciclo de endeudamiento sin precedentes de los países de la región. Procura comprender de esta forma el contexto en que tuvo lugar y las causas de la crisis iniciada en 1982. En segundo lugar, aborda del inicio y el desarrollo de la crisis. Analiza las estrategias de los diferentes actores involucrados, los diagnósticos sobre la naturaleza de la crisis y las propuestas para su resolución a lo largo de las diferentes las etapas de la negociación.
