Abstract

Las ciudades integran diversas funciones urbanas concebidas como un conjunto de bienes o servicios destinados a satisfacer las necesidades de la población. Estas funciones se prestan mediante la dotación de una serie de equipamientos e infraestructuras, entre los que debe incluirse también el comercio. La distribución comercial debe ser un equipamiento flexible, con gran capacidad de adaptación, renovación y modernización para adecuarse a los constantes cambios de la demanda. Debe permitir la libertad de elección de los consumidores y el fácil acceso a una oferta amplia, variada y de calidad, a precios asequibles. El presente trabajo de investigación ofrece la visión desde la visión del marketing de la importancia del comercio minorista como ente dinamizador de la economía en las ciudades latinoamericanas.
