Producciã“N De Materia Orgã Nica En El Central Uruguay, Beneficio Econã“Mico Y Agroecolã“Gico

Abstract

El Central Azucarero Uruguay, fue el objeto de esta investigación, debido a que la vida socio-económica y ecológica del municipio está profundamente potenciada por la presencia y funcionamiento del mismo. La producción sin residuos es un paradigma de la sostenibilidad ambiental, tanto el proceso de producción como el de consumo originan cantidades de residuos, que de no ser adecuadamente manejados y tratados causan afectaciones. Para dar uso racional a los residuos ricos en materia orgánica, se producen fertilizantes orgánicos, que son productos destinados a la nutrición vegetal o a la enmienda de suelos y se caracterizan por un alto contenido de humus, microorganismos y compuestos orgánicos, además de nutrientes y micronutrientes. En este centro se realizan dos métodos fundamentales para elaborar esta materia orgánica: el compostaje y la producción del humus de lombriz, que fueron analizados para observar los beneficios socio- económico y agroecológico que representan para el centro.
