Abstract

La Inversión Extranjera Directa –IED– constituye una de las fuentes más importantes de ingresos para un país, los cuales contribuyen con su crecimiento y desarrollo. Por ende, es importante conocer aquellos factores que podría estimularla o desestimularla. Además, conociendo que los inversionistas consideran el riesgo país al momento de decidir dónde colocar flujos de inversión directa, es sustancial conocer el impacto de este indicador como uno de los determinantes de la IED. Para ello, se realizó una revisión documental de aquellos estudios realizados a nivel regional y de país para establecer el impacto del riesgo país sobre la IED. Se concluye, que no todos los factores que componen el riesgo país tienen significancia sobre la IED, el mayor significancia presenta son los aspectos institucionales, representados por la propiedad privada y la libertad de los derechos políticos.
