Abstract

En el contexto actual de globalización, la competencia económica internacional es cada vez más intensa y abarca a un número creciente de territorios, es por ello que frecuentemente se le considera de “alcance global†. Como respuesta, las acciones de los Estados-nación han sido en la mayoría de los casos, impulsar la competitividad, no obstante, los resultados no han sido los mismos para todos. Al respecto, México ha tendido a ubicarse en la parte baja del ranking elaborado por el Anuario Internacional de Competitividad (WCY, 2008-2012). El artículo plantea que los gobiernos federales (2007-2012; 2003-2018) carecen de una definición institucional sobre globalización y competitividad; asimismo, que éstos se han configurado como temas prioritarios en sus respectivos planes de gobierno. La metodología que se empleó es de tipo cualitativo y consiste en la discusión teórica y revisión documental de los Planes Nacionales de Desarrollo correspondientes.
