Abstract

El cambio climático es ya una realidad que se vive a nivel mundial, y sus consecuencias se perciben en todas las naciones, desde lo más alto de la cordillera de Los Himalaya hasta las orillas mismas del mar en todas las regiones, afectando principalmente a los ecosistemas, llegando a incidir en el comportamiento, conservación y reproducción de las especies, e inclusive a la misma vegetación y su entorno natural además del subsuelo en algunos casos. Hoy en día no es de asombrarse que en nuestro país se presenten lluvias durante casi todo el año en todas las regiones como ha ocurrido en esta última e irregular temporada invernal, y ya entrenado en un anunciado fenómeno del niño a finales del 2015 según informa el Instituto Oceanográfico de la Armada “INOCAR†. Las características intrínsecas del cambio climático como efecto hacen que la especie del cangrejo rojo ucides occidentales sufran algunas complejidades en su habitad y conjuntamente en su desarrollo y conservación de la especie, además en la problemática se añade el concepto de la captura y comercialización del cangrejo que representa el medio de vida y sustento económico de muchas familias en el Ecuador de manera directa e indirecta.
