Plan estratégico de desarrollo turístico sostenible para el área nacional de recreación Isla Santay en Ecuador

Abstract

Ecuador ha sido considerado entre los 17 países que contiene mayor concentración de biodiversidad en el planeta lo cual ha favorecido a la actividad turística. Uno de estos sitios alto potencial turístico es el área nacional de recreación Isla Santay, el cual se ha convertido en albergue de variedades endémicas de manglar, bosques y especies de flora y fauna. El turismo en esta zona debe desarrollarse garantizando un ambiente sano y ecológicamente equilibrado con uso sustentable de su biodiversidad. Considerando la importancia que ostenta esta área natural tanto para la conservación de los recursos naturales como para sus habitantes, en este estudio se propone un Plan estratégico de desarrollo turístico sostenible que permita el fortalecimiento del turismo dentro del sector de una manera equitativa, responsable con el medio ambiente y solidaria con las comunidades aledañas.
