Análisis Empírico De La Función De Demanda Por Gasolina En Puerto Rico: (1999-2006)

Abstract

Este trabajo realiza un análisis empírico a la forma funcional derivada de la función de demanda por gasolina en Puerto Rico. De acuerdo a la estructura del mercado de gasolina en Puerto Rico y el contexto internacional, se decidió estudiar el consumo de gasolina partiendo de un ejercicio de optimización con restricciones. La función de demanda correspondiente a dicho modelo fue la base para el desarrollo empírico. De acuerdo a la evidencia empírica el consumo de gasolina tiene una relación directa con el precio de la gasolina, el ingreso personal y la cantidad de vehículos de motor y una relación negativa con respecto a la tasa de desempleo.
