Abstract

La problemática implicada en la producción científica de las universidades públicas ofrece numerosas aristas; una de ellas, no suficientemente analizada es el ámbito laboral del académico investigador. Aquí se pretende un análisis en esa óptica, organizando y jerarquizando en primer término los componentes objetivos y subjetivos del ámbito laboral-salarial de los académicos-investigadores; enseguida se sintetiza una perspectiva de análisis desde la economía política marxista como referente teórico de adscripción; marco que nos permitirá entender la orientación y determinaciones estructurales que están implícitos en la evolución reciente del mundo del trabajo en este sector de actividad productiva. Por último, y a partir de hurgar en la interrelación de los componentes que inciden en la orientación y resultados de la labor científica, se reflexiona sobre la conveniencia de transformar la institucionalidad que la rige, en función de mejores resultados cualitativos más que cuantitativos y la confección de desarrollos científicos con pertinencia social más que con ánimo lucrativo y mercantil.
