Oscar Varsavsky: Vigencia De Su Legado Para La América Latina Del Siglo Xxi

Abstract

La situación económica, política y social de nuestros pueblos de América, amerita cambios urgentes que redirijan el rumbo de estas naciones, cambios llevados de la mano de científicos que investiguen y resuelvan los problemas que aquejan a sus países y respondan a sus realidades, por difíciles que estas sean. Semejante curso de actuación se logra asumiendo un pensamiento crítico de la ciencia y la tecnología, dotado de raíces profundas en el pasado y presente contexto político, económico y cultural. En este marco se impone revisitar la historia y analizar los escritos y polémicas que en los años 60 y 70 del siglo pasado tuvieron como protagonistas a científicos, tecnólogos y pensadores como Oscar Varsavsky, Jorge Sábato y Amilkar Herrera entre otros. Este ensayo pretende traer al presente algunos aspectos de la vida y los controvertidos criterios de al menos uno de los preclaros pensadores antes citados, me refiero a Oscar Varsavsky.
