Abstract

En el Ecuador los juegos de azar a diferencia de los países del orbe no es una industria millonaria en la que se jueguen altísimas sumas de dinero, sino más bien es moderado el consumo, así, para 13 millones de habitantes hay 45 casinos de diferente categoría ubicados a lo largo y ancho de las diferentes ciudades del país, los cuales están controlados por el Ministerio de Turismo, el año 2008 aportaron al Estado vía impuestos aproximadamente 2 millones de dólares y generaron al menos 2000 trabajos directos y 5000 indirectos.
