¿Los Déficit Gemelos afectan a la sostenibilidad de la dolarización?

Abstract

El término de déficits gemelos se estampó en los Estados Unidos durante la década de los 80 para reflejar déficits simultáneos en las cuentas de las administraciones públicas y en la balanza comercial. Los dos déficits están estrechamente correlacionados, aunque a veces no presentan similar comportamiento. A finales de la década de los 90, la economía norteamericana registró superávit fiscal con un creciente déficit comercial. No obstante, en el nuevo milenio presenta abultados déficits fiscal y comercial.
