Economía de los Agregados Pétreos en la Mixteca Oaxaqueña

Abstract

La economía de los minerales en Oaxaca se concentra en los no metálicos, hay razones históricas, geográficas y sociales que mantienen su estado actual. Los agregados pétreos son materiales imprescindibles para la industria de la construcción, como material sub-rasante para caminos de terracería, para firmes de las carreteras con o sin adición de elementos activos o bien como insumos para la fabricación de otros materiales de construcción. El valor de la producción estatal de agregados es cercano a 64 millones de pesos, su mercado se encuentra en expansión, pues su oferta crece anualmente en promedio a tasas de 111.6, por ciento. Existen doce plantas activas que producen diariamente 2,700 metros cúbicos. El 25.9 por ciento se producen en la Mixteca en cuatro plantas trituradoras. Parece ser que no se logra cubrir la demanda, pues se estima que en la región el valor de mercado potencial no satisfecho es de más de 100 millones de pesos.
