Reflexiones acerca del efecto de las Empresas Transnacionales (ETN) en el ámbito cultural de los países latinoamericanos

Abstract

El presente trabajo es una aproximación al proceso que se lleva a cabo con la instauración y desarrollo de las ETN en los países latinoamericano, facilitado a su vez por la globalización neoliberal. La inversión de los países desarrollados a través de las transnacionales induce a la pérdida gradual y siempre creciente de la identidad cultural de los pueblos, pues no solo se trata de mercancías y mercado, sino también los rasgos culturales y elementos idiosincráticos propios de los “inversores”, que a su vez traen aparejados formas de actuar “know how” y pensar diferentes a la que existe en los países invadidos. Esto genera comparaciones indiscutibles entre las culturas de los países de los que provienen las ETN y el país que las “recibe”.
