Abstract

El siglo XVIII cubano es sumamente estudiado y profundizado debido a que es en él, donde se sientan las bases de nuestra nacionalidad y florece en toda su dimensión la sociedad criolla, con intereses más arraigados a la isla que a nuestra metrópoli europea. En el ámbito interno cubano, entre los años 1720 y 1765, se produce un tránsito en la economía colonial cubana, que pasa del capitalismo dependiente hacendatario al capitalismo colonial dependiente de la plantación. Esto se debe a varias razones entre las que encontramos: la paulatina recuperación económica experimentada por España que implicó un estrechamiento en las relaciones colonia-metrópoli.
