Ruptura Populista Y Política En América Latina. Bolivia En Tiempos De Evo Morales

Abstract

Al examinar los estudios dedicados al populismo en la tradición latinoamericana, observamos que dicha categoría ha experimentado un constante tironeo por parte de diversos cientistas sociales. Se ha destacado su uso reduccionista, su vaguedad e imprecisión, su estiramiento conceptual, su carácter pantanoso que obligaría a su olvido, y el riesgo constante de vaciarse y quedar sin un contenido preciso. Se lo ha postulado como sinónimo de Estado interventor y asistencialista y / o como negación de los valores elementales de la democracia representativa al poner énfasis en la cuestión del liderazgo demagógico, las relaciones clientelistas y la manipulación de masas. Asimismo, se lo ha caracterizado como una anomalía que aparece en los sistemas políticos que no son estables y dinámicos y que una vez en el poder, el populismo busca debilitar las instituciones al privilegiar la relación directa con la gente.
