Determinantes Institucionales De La Inversión Extranjera Directa Bilateral En El Ecuador

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo, determinar cuáles son las instituciones que inciden de manera positiva en la inversión extranjera directa del Ecuador por país de origen. Para ello, se utilizan los indicadores de “Buen Gobierno” realizados por el Banco Mundial y los índices de Libertad Económica realizados por The Heritage Foundation para contrastar los resultados obtenidos entre ambos indicadores. Se encuentra que el Ecuador, podría captar mayores flujos de inversión extranjera directa si se mejoran los derechos de propiedad principalmente. Menor incidencia pero con alto grado de explicación, se encuentra que la estabilidad política y control de la corrupción generan un ambiente propicio para atraer flujos de inversión extranjera directa.
