Abstract

Asia Oriental se ha convertido en una zona con un peso específico en la escena internacional de primer orden, que sin duda se incrementará en este nuevo siglo. Hacia esta parte del Planeta, se está desplazando a marchas forzadas el centro de gravedad económico mundial. Por tanto, la estabilidad en la zona no es sólo una cuestión de índole regional. Un conflicto bélico de magnitud en esta zona tendría repercusiones de carácter mundial. Entre los posibles focos de tensión en la región, destaca la posibilidad en principio remota (y más desde hace unos meses) pero no descartable, de un conflicto bélico entre la República Popular China y Taiwán, que muy posiblemente derivaría en un conflicto de alcance internacional
