XVII Congreso del PCCh: balance, novedades y expectativas

Abstract

Artículo de Xulio Ríos: Entre el 15 y el 21 de Octubre se celebró en Beijing, el XVII Congreso del Partido Comunista de China (PCCh). A priori, el evento, desarrollado según las previsiones estatutarias en todos los sentidos, debía confirmar el giro promovido en la política china por Hu Jintao, su secretario general, jefe del Estado y presidente de la Comisión Militar Central, y sentar las bases de su propia sucesión, ya que en 2012 debe abandonar el cargo para dejar paso a una nueva generación de dirigentes que en este lustro debería culminar su preparación. Sin embargo, también ha dejado algunas sorpresas, en especial la conformación del Comité Permanente del Buró Político y lo abierta que ha quedado la sucesión, así como la reflexión sobre la necesidad de diseñar un programa de profundización política de alcance y consecuencias aún difíciles de prever.
