Análisis histórico de la deforestación en la costa de Jalisco, México

Abstract

La costa de Jalisco produce gran satisfacción visual, al contemplar su paisaje rodeado de diversas comunidades vegetales; las cuales están establecidas sobre un tipo de relieve privilegiado, cuyas configuraciones forman acantilados, superficies accidentadas, llanuras y lomeríos; ofreciendo una variedad de paisajes atractivos. Sin embargo, en las últimas décadas; debido al proceso de desarrollo socioeconómico; la cobertura vegetal, ha estado sujeta a cambios radicales, que han alterado la dinámica natural de los ecosistemas de esta zona del Occidente de México. Donde el principal problema que provoca la pérdida y degradación de la vegetación, se atribuye a los cambios de uso del suelo por actividades agropecuarias, las cuales para el año 2016 cubrieron 22.23% de la superficie del territorio. Los porcentajes del cambio de coberturas mostraron que la actividad pecuaria predominó sobre la agricultura con 3.8%. Estas actividades económicas, impulsadas a principios del siglo XX por diferentes políticas públicas como la reforma agraria, han desempeñado, un papel importante en la historia del crecimiento socioeconómico de la costa de Jalisco; vinculando a su vez, programas sociales de desarrollo; cabe resaltar que este proceso significó la deforestación de miles de hectáreas de bosques tropicales y templados.
