Línea base ambiental biótica ex ante de la construcción de un centro de faenamiento

Abstract

Las actividades de faenamiento de animales son conocidas como fuentes de afectación ambiental, tanto por la generación de aguas residuales, como malos olores, de alto impacto en la salud humana. La zona de estudio está ubicada en una zona tropical de Ecuador; y en el presente estudio es objeto de valoración de su línea base ambiental ex ante la construcción de un centro de faenamiento de extensión 39.702Haaproximadamente. En la presente línea base biótica, se identifican y cuantifican los principales impactos ambientales y riesgos que se pueden presentar en el desarrollo de las actividades del centro de faenamiento en las etapas de construcción, operación y mantenimiento. Según los respectivos cálculos, se evidencia que los impactos ambientales significativos y altamente significativos son inexistentes; y los impactos ambientales despreciables abarcan alrededor del 66,67%, siempre y cuando se apliquen las correspondientes medidas de prevención de daños y remediación de efluentes contaminantes.
