Abstract

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo central explicar las relaciones sociales y técnicas inmersas en la estructura y funcionamiento del sistema de cultivo del amaranto en el municipio de Tochimilco, Puebla, México. La investigación tuvo un enfoque teórico de los sistemas sociotécnicos. La recolección de datos se realizó a través de la técnica documental, recorridos de campo apoyados en la técnica de la observación directa y se aplicó un cuestionario a 83 productores a fin de estructurar el sistema del cultivo de la zona de investigación. El análisis de la información se realizó a partir de cinco condiciones formuladas en la metodología, complementada con la técnica del análisis crítico de los hechos para evaluar y discriminar la información recabada. Los resultados indican que los sistemas de cultivo pueden ser entendidos como sistemas sociotécnicos, modelados y explicados en cada uno de sus elementos, permitiendo entender sus relaciones sociales y técnicas.
