Abstract

O planeamento territorial, apesar de continuar centrado nos mecanismos de regulação do uso do solo e nos instrumentos normativos que configuram a sua concretização, começa a valorizar preocupações estratégicas e ambientais no contexto de novas formas de governação. Estas configuram ferramentas de enorme relevância para melhorar a qualidade dos instrumentos de gestão territorial e promover um envolvimento mais ativo e uma participação mais esclarecida dos cidadãos nas tarefas fundamentais que devem conduzir a uma ocupação/utilização cada vez mais racional, consciente e esclarecida do território.
