Proceso De Fragmentación Del Río Grande De Santiago (México) Y Sus Implicaciones Sociales Y Ambientales

Abstract

La creación de una serie de presas a lo largo de la cuenca del río Grande de Santiago ha traído una serie de cambios que, dependiendo de los diferentes puntos de vista, pueden calificarse como positivos o negativos. Sin embargo, es conveniente no perder de vista la dimensión de largo plazo con la finalidad de reducir los impactos negativos que conlleva la construcción de grandes presas. La inversión que se haga en proteger la salud del ecosistema desde la etapa de planeación de estas obras, pueden evitar devastadores costos futuros que habría que enfrentar con acciones de remediación. En este trabajo se describen las grandes presas construidas recientemente a lo largo de una de las cuencas más importantes del occidente de México e igualmente se discuten las principales repercusiones sociales, económicas y ambientales.
