Abstract

La innovación en las universidades para contribuir al perfeccionamiento de la formación del profesional universitario y favorecer el desarrollo local en las comunidades es un imperativo de los tiempos actuales. Este artículo fundamenta la importancia que tiene para la sociedad actual la inserción de la universidad en el tejido social de la comunidad, expone experiencias actuales y ejemplifica mediante un plan de acción conformado por una fundamentación teórico-conceptual, objetivos, principios, fases y un conjunto de acciones sistémicas. Los métodos utilizados fueron la revisión documental, la observación, el análisis y la síntesis. Recomienda acciones para la aplicación y generalización.
