Un Análisis De La Interrelación De Las Dimensiones De La Competitividad Turística Y El Desarrollo Sustentable De México, 2000-2010

Abstract

El propósito de este artículo es analizar la relación existente entre las dimensiones de la competitividad turística y el desarrollo de México durante la década 2000-2010. Para la elaboración del índice de desarrollo sustentable de México se tomaron en cuenta cuatro dimensiones: económica, social, ambiental y la localización de las actividades; en el caso del índice de competitividad turística también se dividió en cinco dimensiones: el fomento a la actividad turística, los recursos humanos y profesionalización del sector hotelero, la infraestructura y accesibilidad y los servicios complementarios al turismo. La hipótesis planteada sugiere que existe alta correlación entre la competitividad turística y el desarrollo de México medido en sus entidades federativas, lo cual sugiere que estas actividades pueden incrementar favorablemente el bienestar social.
