Abstract

A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo identificar contribuições geradas pela agricultura familiar para o desenvolvimento local no município de Parintins-AM. A metodologia utilizada foi qualitativa – exploratória, no estudo empírico, foram realizadas entrevistas com 20 produtores ligados a agricultura familiar da região no primeiro semestre de 2012. Os resultados revelam que dentre os produtos cultivados, está a mandioca, presente em 70% das unidades produtivas. A pesquisa identificou que os produtores da região apresentam baixo nível de organização de suas práticas de gestão e técnicas produtivas, que podem ser entendidas tanto pela incipiente atuação das instituições presentes no sistema produtivo, quanto pela incipiente formação educacional dos agricultores.
