Abstract

La explotación de canteras comprende una parte importante de la minería que se realiza a cielo abierto en el mundo con el objetivo de aportar los materiales de construcción que se extraen. Este tipo de minería se caracteriza por la creación de un fuerte impacto al medio ambiente debido a que en la mayoría de las empresas no prestan la debida atención a dicha actividad. De aquí la necesidad de conocer los diferentes aspectos necesarios para la correcta explotación de una cantera. En Cuba, el desarrollo de la actividad minera se ha intensificado a partir del triunfo revolucionario sobre todo en las canteras para la obtención de materiales de construcción.
