Evaluación Del Manejo Local De La Microcuenca Lagunillas (Jalisco, México) Utilizando Indicadores De Sustentabilidad

Abstract

La evaluación del manejo de la microcuenca Lagunillas usando indicadores de sustentabilidad respondió a la necesidad de identificar los logros obtenidos, los errores cometidos y los retos pendientes durante el proceso de gestión de la microcuenca (de 1997 a la fecha). La metodología estuvo basada en el Marco para la Evaluación de Sistemas de Manejo de Recursos Naturales incorporando Indicadores de Sustentabilidad (MESMIS), mediante el cual se seleccionaron veinticuatro indicadores para evaluar la sustentabilidad de la microcuenca. Estos indicadores fueron agrupados en tres áreas: ambiental, económica-productiva y social. Cada indicador seleccionado fue medido y monitoreado durante dos años. Los resultados encontrados permitieron identificar avances en las estrategias de uso del territorio, así como también la participación social en la conservación del suelo y el manejo forestal, pero también evidenciaron deficiencias en aspectos como la ineficiencia productiva y la falta de seguimiento de los proyectos y programas implementados.
