Indicadores socioeconômicos de um país periférico da África: o caso da Republica Democrática do Congo – RDC

Abstract

O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar os indicadores socioeconômicos da Republica Democrática do Congo - RDC na década de 2000. Usou-se como fundamentação teórica a teoria de desenvolvimento econômico. Os dados secundários foram coletados no World Bank e do Programa das Nações Unidas Para o Desenvolvimento – PNUD. Constatou-se que a partir do início do século XXI a experiência de desenvolvimento no Congo se deu por meio de política intervencionista no país para melhorar os indicadores sociais e econômicos. Houve um aumento no IDH, uma pequena melhorar no PIB per capita, na taxa de alfabetização e na esperança de vida ao nascer. Pode se concluir que a intervenção se faz necessário ao processo de crescimento e desenvolvimento num país periférico da África.
