Políticas de ajuste estructural y su impacto en el mercado de trabajo español (1994-2010)

Abstract

Los Programas de Ajuste Estructural que se están aplicando en España y otros países del sur de la UE aplican los mismos principios neoliberales que ya habían sido utilizados en América Latina en la década de los ochenta, materializando los principios del Consenso de Washington. Si para América Latina se conoce aquel período como "la década perdida", es previsible que para España resulten tener los mismos efectos. En este artículo se analizan las medidas de ajuste estructural tomadas en nuestro país con especial atención a la reforma del mercado laboral y su impacto social y económico. La precariedad laboral, inestabilidad contractual y la moderación salarial han deteriorado notablemente la participación de las rentas del trabajo en la distribución funcional de la renta. Pero además, su efecto sobre la competitividad de las empresas es muy limitado mientras que sus efectos sobre el crecimiento y la estructura económica son muy negativos.
