El Empleo En Las Pymes Manufactureras: El Caso De España Y Portugal

Abstract

En este documento se analiza la importancia que tienen las PYMES (Pequeñas y Medianas Empresas) de España y Portugal en la provisión de empleos dentro del sector de la manufactura para el periodo 1997-2007. En ambos países las PYMES tienen un lugar determinante en la creación de empleos, proveyendo estas la mayoría de los empleos manufactureros; donde la distribución de los mismos cambia según el subsector manufacturero en perspectiva. El tamaño promedio de una firma manufacturera para ambos países es menor de 10 personas, siendo de los promedios más bajos entre los países europeos. Los análisis de correlación llevados a cabo nos muestran una relación positiva entre el tamaño promedio de la PYME y su nivel de ventas promedio.
