Deuda Externa: Fuente De Pobreza

Abstract

La deuda externa de los países del Tercer Mundo constituye uno de los principales obstáculos a su desarrollo y, por lo tanto, una de las principales causas de la pobreza en el contexto del actual proceso de mundialización o globalización, el cual se caracteriza principalmente por centrarse en el mundo financiero a gran escala (grandes bancos privados y empresas transnacionales) y en unas relaciones de mercado notoriamente injustas y desequilibradas. Por este motivo, la desigualdad económica y social aumenta en todos los ámbitos, incluso en los países más ricos, y sus principales perdedores son los individuos y grupos más vulnerables y desfavorecidos, tal y como se refleja en los informes sobre desarrollo humano del Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD), entre otros.
