Comercio internacional y competitividad en la sociedad del conocimiento

Abstract

Este estudio parte del supuesto de que la relación entre crecimiento económico y tecnología cobró mayor importancia a lo largo de las últimas décadas, y de desatacar los factores tecnológicos como uno de los aspectos más importantes al momento de explicar los flujos de comercio internacional. De este modo, la idea rectora de este artículo es que el progreso técnico no es accesible de forma homogénea a todos los países y que la competitividad internacional de cada país es definida a partir de las diferentes capacidades tecnológicas y grados de encadenamientos hacia atrás y hacia delante de los diversos sectores productivos. El propósito de este artículo es describir los cambios que en el transcurso del tiempo ha sufrido el concepto de ‘competitividad’ a la luz de diversas teorías de comercio internacional.
