Los flujos migratorios contemporáneos. Una explicación multicausal

Abstract

Los flujos migratorios contemporáneos de naturaleza económica presentan una pauta regional Sur-Norte y sean han intensificado mucho desde mediados de los años ochenta del siglo XX; no obstante, dichos flujos se han venido produciendo históricamente. Por todo ello, existirán unas causas que expliquen la persistencia de dichos flujos a lo largo del tiempo y otras que expliquen la intensificación reciente de los mismos; las primeras vinculadas con la dualidad desarrollo-subdesarrollo y las segundas con el proceso de globalización. En este trabajo se hace un repaso de la literatura sobre las causas de la persistencia y se apuntan algunas explicaciones novedosas sobre las causas de la aceleración.
