Reflexiones sobre la promoción de exportaciones en cuba. Apuntes para su estudio

Abstract

El tema central de este trabajo se orienta a la investigación de los efectos que tienen las condiciones de oferta sobre el resultado de las exportaciones. En especial, se trata de determinar si existe espacio en Cuba para el desarrollo de políticas públicas que modifiquen las condiciones de oferta de las exportaciones y que redunden en una mejoría del desempeño exportador. La hipótesis a demostrar es que, efectivamente, los factores que caracterizan los resultados de las políticas actuando por el lado de la oferta contribuyen a explicar significativamente el comportamiento de las exportaciones, y que además, su contribución es tan o más importante que la de la demanda mundial, como se ha puesto en evidencia en otros países. Esta cuestión resulta de particular importancia para el caso cubano, ya que nuestro sector exportador es decisivo en la economía y en especial para su inserción externa.
