Os aspectos legal, social e econômico da gestão de resíduos sólidos: oportunidades e desafios

Abstract

A Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos, ao reconhecer os resíduos sólidos como bens econômicos/ sociais, gerou uma oportunidade de empreendimento que inspirou à Asmare a criar o Projeto “Evento Sustentável†, para a coleta seletiva em eventos. Esse projeto, organizado segundo os preceitos da economia solidária e gerido por catadores, é uma experiência inovadora, com várias fragilidades de gestão, em seu contexto, que envolve um tripé constituído pelo grupo produtivo e empresas públicas e privadas. Este artigo pretende analisar os desafios e as oportunidades enfrentados pela Asmare na sustentabilidade dessa nova oportunidade de negócio. Sua construção fundamenta-se em pesquisa bibliográfica e documental e na experiência da primeira autora junto à Asmare e ao Projeto. Concluiu-se sobre a grande dificuldade de implementar a autogestão e alcançar a sustentabilidade sob a ótica do protagonismo e da autonomia do catador.
