El uso de juegos de mesa estratégicos para la enseñanza de las ciencias sociales en educación secundaria. Una experiencia erasmus

Abstract

La enseñanza efectiva de las ciencias sociales a los alumnos de educación secundaria plantea en la actualidad un desafío para los profesores. Los alumnos están expuestos como nunca a la tecnología que influye en su motivación por las materias escolares. Para activar su interés en las ciencias sociales y la historia como asignaturas se deben utilizar estrategias metodológicas atractivas. Para enfrentar este y otros desafíos educativos, escuelas de seis países comenzaron una asociación Erasmus y presentaron un proyecto de innovación llamado “Historical Board Games for Peace. Making History Alive†(Juegos de mesa históricos por la paz. Haciendo historia viva) que fue aprobado para el bienio 2016-2018. Con este proyecto se introdujo el uso de juegos de mesa históricos, comúnmente conocidos como wargames, en el proceso de enseñar historia a los estudiantes. Para ello, se aprovechó el potencial educativo de los juegos de estrategia con los alumnos participantes en el proyecto.
