La basílica de El Cisne, imponente en medio de la pobreza

Abstract

Desde su creación, el templo de El Cisne, allá por 1930, ha sido un importante centro de peregrinaje tanto nacional cuanto internacional por parte de los feligreses católicos quienes al menos una vez al año visitan el santuario para demostrar su fe y recibir favores por parte de la imagen según ellos milagrosa de la virgen católica. Decenas de miles de peregrinos se dan cita a lo largo del año ya sea en su templo a en los lugares que visita la virgen para demostrar su fe y a la vez contribuir con aportes de dinero que sin lugar a dudas engrosan las arcas económicas de sus administradores. En este artículo, sus autores hacen una investigación exhaustiva a través de la recolección de la información que les ha permitido llegar a conclusiones científicas sobre el trato que se da a los recursos económicos por parte de la iglesia católica. Es evidente también la falta de conocimiento casi absoluto por parte de la población de la provincia de Loja de no conocer casi nada de sobre tan popular santuario que mueve la fe y que mueve dinero.
