O papel do trabalho no desenvolvimento da síndrome de Burnout na enfermagem

Abstract

A profissão da Enfermagem sofreu mudanças significativas ao longo dos anos. Atualmente o enfermeiro executa múltiplas funções, sendo submetido a variadas exigência tanto burocráticas quanto assistenciais. Dentro deste contexto, este profissional muitas vezes encontra-se sujeito a condições de estresse crônico, que poderá resultar no surgimento da Síndrome de Burnout. Esta patologia é caracterizada por sintomas que variam desde a falta de motivação e despersonalização até doenças como a depressão e os distúrbios cardíacos. Desta maneira, este artigo, através de uma revisão de literatura, revisa o papel do trabalho no desenvolvimento desta patologia, o contexto histórico da Enfermagem na arte do cuidado e os efeitos desta doença neste grupo de profissionais.
