Marcos Institucionais e debates sobre o conceito de Fronteiras: um mosaico de interpretações

Abstract

O artigo tem como objetivo analisar as diferentes abordagens disciplinares sobre os conceitos de fronteira, faixa de fronteira, zona e limite de fronteira. Para este fim, metodologicamente lançou-se mão das concepções dominantes na geografia, geopolítica, sociologia, antropologia, relações internacionais e ciência política, relacionando-as com as especificidades da fronteira amazônica. Os resultados revelam que não existe um consenso em torno desses conceitos, mas o conhecimento de seu significado em diferentes disciplinas é indispensável para entender a complexidade da construção e definição das fronteiras e de políticas públicas para esse espaço tão diverso.
